Join us to learn more about our indexing project and our Neighborhood Steward positions!
PFTP started indexing (mapping and tracking data) fruit trees in the Portland Metro area last year. Our plan is to build out a fruit tree index that will allow for more fruit rescue, better impact tracking for tree care and our tree canopy, and long term growth while providing skills and work opportunities. At this event, we will be teaching neighbors and community members how to use our indexing program to add fruit trees to our map! If you have lots of fruit trees in your area, or are interested in using GIS, come by and learn how to index trees with us!
We will also be talking to anyone interested in our Neighborhood Steward positions. We are looking for people that would connect with their neighbors about harvesting, tree care, and tree planting. The Stewards would lead harvests in their neighborhoods and index the fruit trees there too. The Neighborhood Stewards are stipend positions through the summer.
