This workshop will cover the basics of summer pruning, with an emphasis on espalier or other intensive training-focused methods. We will begining with an overview of the various approaches and reasons for summer pruning, followed by hands-on learning with a number of established espaliered fruit trees. Everyone will get an opportunity to practice their skills and receive direct guidance as to how to make the right cuts to encourage more spur production and ultimately, steward a healthier tree!
