Mulberries, little known in the PNW, are a sweet 'blackberry' that grow on a tree. They are delicious eaten fresh or dried, or in a variety of prepared items like crumbles, pies and jams. Their dark color also means they are super nutrient dense and highly prized medicinally.  Because of the volume the two trees my grandfather planted produce every few days from June through July, there is an ample harvest to experiment with meads, wine, they also make a rich balsamic-like vinegar and delicious kombucha! I have kombucha starter kits I can share.  And as a final resort the less attractive berries can be fed to chickens for super nutrient dense eggs.

This event will provide an orientation to the orchard and the mulberries so you can sign up to come harvest on your own, perhaps even several times during the season.  Can't make this timing but still interested?  contact Sara at: ennisjsara -at- gmail.com to find another time.
