Native Plant Dig Day! Besides being a regular work party event, we are inviting our neighbors to dig their own native plants from the orchard! Native plants provide multiple benefits to people and wildlife, while contributing greatly to healthy soil and water in urban and rural areas. We have a variety of plants to share including salmonberry, thimbleberry, red flowering currant, and snowberry. Bring your shovels and pots so you can add to your own home garden!
Participate in the care of this community orchard resource through joining work parties!
This space is a young orchard of well-cared-for trees, with lots of different varieties of fruit and native plants to explore. We will be weeding the tree bases, pruning back the native plants, and mulching. This is a lovely space and we will have many opportunities to learn and harvest from these trees in collaboration with the Parkrose Community United Church of Christ.
