Harvest Leaders are a crucial part of our organization. A great way to meet people in your community and facilitate food rescue, becoming a Harvest Lead is a good fit for anyone who loves people and picking fruit. At this in-person training, we will talk about the tools and logistics of acting as a Harvest Leader with Portland Fruit Tree Project.

We will go over the general tenants of gleaning, while also covering the proper use of tools, systems of communication and methods to ensure a safe and fun harvest for everyone. This training is required for anyone who wishes to be in the volunteer lead role, and after you have completed the training we will provide shadow opportunities before you head off on your own to lead harvests this season.
