Priority for these workshops will be given to people who are current PP&R Community Garden participants and people who can commit to volunteering at the Gabriel Community Orchard regularly. If you are a Community Garden plot holder, please let us know where your plot is in the sign up questions! Per PP&R guidelines, if you are not a plot holder or cannot commit to volunteering for a PP&R community orchard, your spot in this free workshop might be given up.
Join us this spring for a hands-on Pest & Disease Management Workshop at the Gabriel Park Orchard! We’ll spend the first 30 minutes learning about thinning, bagging, and other Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies we use in our orchards. We’ll cover common spring pests, disease prevention, and organic, climate-resilient approaches to fruit tree care.
Then we’ll put that knowledge into action with 1.5 hours of guided, in-orchard application—thinning fruit, bagging, and practicing other IPM techniques together. Come ready to learn, ask questions, and get your hands dirty while helping steward this community orchard space!
